Greyhound Star was launched as a fortnightly tabloid newspaper in 1983 by four Fleet Street journalists who were also greyhound enthusiasts at Henlow.
The Star bought out the glossy Greyhound magazine three years later and with it came writer Floyd Amphlett. Floyd had a background in the greyhound industry and had become a part-time writer on the magazine in the late 1970s. He eventually became editor of the Star before launching a management takeover in 1993.
The Star went on-line in January 2015 - www.grehoundstar.co.uk but continues to be published as a small feature led, 24-page, monthly newspaper.
